Tree Care FAQ's:

How do I make my tree look better for longer?
    • Avoid placing your tree near a heat source such as a radiator, fire or heater.
    • The later you bring your tree inside the better. Either request a delivery date closer to xmas, or sit your tree in a bucket of water outside as soon as you receive it.
    • Display your tree in a water holding stand and ensure the tree has a freshly cut base prior to placing it in the water (see Q below). The trunk will draw water up and keep it looking fresh! It is crucial that you do not let the water source dry out or drop below the bottom of the cut. If this happens the base will callus over and your tree will no longer be able to draw up the water, causing it to dry out. Your tree can actually drink a few litres of water within the first week of being indoors. So check the level daily and be ready to top up!
    • Keep in mind that the warmth of your room and the length of time it is warm for, can affect the freshness of the tree.

Will the base of my tree be freshly cut before delivery?
Yes. Before every tree goes out for delivery we make a fresh cut to the base of your tree (the bottom of the trunk). As long as you put it in water as soon as you receive the tree, either in a water holding stand or in a bucket outside, the tree should be able to draw water up over the festive period.
If you don't or aren't able to put the tree in water when you receive it, please be prepared to make another fresh cut yourself (see next FAQ)

How do I cut the base of a tree myself?
Using a good quality hand saw, simply saw off a piece off the bottom of the trunk at least 5cm wide. Place your tree in water immediately after. Please take care whenever handling sharp equipment.

Does my tree come with a stand?
No. But you can order either a Cinco Water Holding Stand or a Wooden Block to go with your tree.

I am purchasing a stand with my tree. Do you fit the stand before delivery?
We fit all Wooden Block stands prior to delivery, but not the Cinco Water Holding Stands. If you would however like us to fit a Cinco stand before delivery, please request this at the checkout or over the phone and we will arrange it for you.

What should I do with my tree after Christmas?
You can drop your tree off in The Boma car park from the 2 Jan to 16 Jan and the council will collect it from us to recycle. Trees that are recycled are chipped down to compost to feed parks and grounds across The London Borough of Camden. If you can't make it to us, check with your local council for xmas tree recycling schemes.
