Our Heuchera plants collection at Boma spans the full palette of modern coral bells cultivars — from the deep purple and near-black of Heuchera 'Obsidian' and 'Blackout' to the zingy lime of 'Lime Marmalade' and the caramel-rust of 'Caramel'. Heuchera 'Green Spice' offers silver-veined green foliage for elegant mixed borders, while red flowers appear on the tall flower stems of 'Fire Alarm' and vibrant colours glow in 'Electra' and 'Electra'. All are outstanding foliage plants first, but most produce dainty flowers — pink flowers or creamy white flowers on slender flower stems — from late spring through early summer, adding a delicate layer of colour above the evergreen mounds of leaves.

Plant heuchera in partial shade to full sun depending on cultivar. Darker-leaved cultivars tolerate more sun; lime and lighter forms need more shade to prevent leaf scorch. Most heuchera plants perform best with morning sun and afternoon shade. All prefer moist soil, well drained, enriched with organic matter — avoid waterlogged conditions which cause crown rot and poor vigour. Plant heuchera at crown level, never burying the crown deeply. In full sun, water regularly during the growing season; in shady areas, drought tolerant established plants need less attention.
