Boma Garden Centre is a well established independent garden centre in Kentish Town, with a long-standing reputation for quality plants, inspiring displays and genuine customer care. We are looking for a Bedding Plant Area Supervisor to take responsibility for one of our key seasonal departments.

This is a good opportunity for someone with strong bedding plant knowledge who would like to develop their commercial skills. Working closely with our management team, you will gain hands-on experience of supplier management, ordering and seasonal planning, while making sure the department performs well throughout the year.

The role

As Bedding Plant Area Supervisor you will oversee the day-to-day running of the bedding area, maintaining high standards of presentation, availability and plant quality.

You will work directly with our suppliers, supported by the management team, to understand seasonal requirements, place orders and plan stock levels. During peak periods you will have support from the wider team, while remaining responsible for the department's standards and success.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage the bedding plant department and maintain high retail standards.
  • Order seasonal bedding plants from our established suppliers.
  • Plan stock volumes through the season to maximise availability and minimise waste.
  • Create attractive, commercially focused plant displays.
  • Ensure excellent plant quality and presentation at all times.
  • Provide expert horticultural advice and outstanding customer service.
  • Work closely with the management team to develop your buying skills and take increasing responsibility for the department.

About you

  • Strong horticultural knowledge, particularly in seasonal bedding plants.
  • Experience working in a retail plant area or garden centre.
  • Confident merchandising and visual display skills.
  • Organised, able to plan ahead and take ownership of your department.
  • Buying or ordering experience is an advantage but not essential, as full training will be provided.

What we offer

  • Time off between Christmas and New Year to spend with family and friends.
  • The chance to develop buying and supplier management skills.
  • Genuine ownership of your own department.
  • A supportive independent business with a close-knit team.
  • The opportunity to join ahead of the busy spring season, with full training.
