The Terracotta Whitby Pot is a beautifully balanced garden planter designed for generous planting displays and relaxed outdoor living. With its wide, shallow profile and softly rounded rim, this distinctive outdoor plant pot offers an elegant platform for layered planting schemes in London terraces, courtyards and garden seating areas.
Handcrafted from natural clay using traditional artisanal techniques, each outdoor planter is fired at extremely high temperatures to strengthen the terracotta and improve durability in outdoor environments. This high-firing process enhances resistance to frost and weathering while preserving the rich, earthy tones and subtle variations that make every garden plant pot unique.
The broad planting surface makes the Whitby design particularly suited to abundant planting. It works beautifully as a plant trough for succulents, trailing herbs, ornamental grasses or colourful seasonal bedding. Positioned beside outdoor seating, along a sunny wall or on a roof terrace, this outdoor pot creates a relaxed yet refined planting feature that enhances modern urban gardens.
Whether used individually or grouped with other terracotta containers, the Whitby planter introduces warmth, texture and Mediterranean character to outdoor spaces.
Product Care
Terracotta is naturally porous, helping regulate moisture for plant roots. Always use a well-draining compost and ensure the drainage hole remains clear to prevent waterlogging. Placing a layer of gravel or crocks at the base of the garden planter will improve drainage and root health.
To extend the life of the outdoor plant pot, raise it slightly on pot feet to allow water to drain away freely beneath the container. During winter, avoid leaving standing water inside the pot, as freezing conditions may cause damage.

Items bought in-store or collected can be returned directly at the garden centre. If you would like us to collect a return and it is in good condition (e.g. you have changed your mind), it must be in its original condition, and the same delivery cost will apply for the return.
Plants marked as reduced for end-of-season clearance are non-refundable, as they are sold specifically to clear stock. This does not apply to special offers or multibuy promotions, which are eligible for returns as per our standard terms.
