Quick Guide
We plant each one to match the photo as closely as we can. If a plant or pot isn't available, we'll swap in a close match so the overall look is the same.
- Olive tree trained with a spiral stem
- Planted in a classic terracotta pot
- Evergreen, with narrow grey-green leaves
- Needs full sun and free-draining compost
- Suits a sunny balcony, terrace or doorstep
- Shelter it from long spells of frost and wet
- Water sparingly, especially through winter
The stem is the point. This olive has been trained into a spiral, so before you've even looked at the leaves there's a shape to enjoy: a twist of trunk rising out of a plain terracotta pot to a bushy head of grey-green foliage.
Olives are evergreen and want the same things in London as they do further south: plenty of sun and compost that drains freely. A south-facing balcony, a bright terrace or a sunny front step will suit it, and the narrow leaves, silvery underneath, catch the light whenever the wind moves them.
Terracotta and olive is a pairing that never looks out of place, whether the rest of the space is modern or traditional. This is a tree for every month rather than one season, and the spiral gives it presence even in the depths of winter.
Plant Care
Give it the sunniest spot you have and let the compost dry out a little between waterings; olives dislike sitting wet, especially in winter. Feed every few weeks from spring to late summer with a general liquid fertiliser. Olives cope with some cold but not long spells of hard frost with wet roots, so when frost is forecast, move the pot against a sunny wall and cover the head with horticultural fleece. Rub off any shoots that appear on the stem to keep the spiral clear, and stand the pot on feet so water drains freely.

Third-Party Couriers
For London postcodes outside a 5-mile radius of our Kentish Town garden centre, we may occasionally use a third-party courier for delivery. In these cases, we try our best to still deliver the items in the requested delivery time slot but please be aware that occasionally this may not always be possible and is out of our control.
Delivery Discrepancies
Please check your order as soon as it arrives. If there is any discrepancy — such as a missing, incorrect, or damaged item — please contact us within 48 hours of delivery so we can put things right. After this time, we will assume the order was received complete and in good condition. We are unable to take responsibility for damage that has occurred after this period.
Click & Collect

Returns Policy
If you need to return an item, please contact us within 14 days of receipt to arrange a return or exchange. Products must be in their original condition and packaging. Plants may be non-refundable unless they arrive damaged or defective.
Items bought in-store or collected can be returned directly at the garden centre. If you would like us to collect a return and it is in good condition (e.g. you have changed your mind), it must be in its original condition, and the same delivery cost will apply for the return.
Plants marked as reduced for end-of-season clearance are non-refundable, as they are sold specifically to clear stock. This does not apply to special offers or multibuy promotions, which are eligible for returns as per our standard terms.
