Quick Guide
- Planted by hand at Boma in Kentish Town
- Low bowl, made to order for winter
- Pink cyclamen and primrose for bright winter colour
- Heuchera adds deep red, ruffled foliage
- Winter heather and trailing ivy soften the edges
- Suits steps, tables, balconies and garden walls
- Plants can move into the garden come spring
Winter is when a front step needs the most help, and The Bedford Bowl is planted for exactly that. Pink cyclamen and a primrose sit at the centre, bright against the deep red, ruffled leaves of a heuchera. Winter heather adds fine texture and a small trailing ivy spills over the rim, so the whole thing looks settled from the day you bring it home.
Because it's a low bowl, you see it from above, which is how most of us meet our pots in winter: on the way in, arms full of shopping, looking down for the keys. This outdoor planter suits a front step, a courtyard table, a balcony floor or the top of a garden wall, and it's easy to move closer to the door when the evenings draw in.
Each Bedford Bowl is made to order and planted by hand at Boma in Kentish Town, using plants we'd happily put in our own gardens. It's a small garden planter with a lot of cheer in it, and a nice thing to come home to on a grey evening.
Product Care Guide
Give it a bright spot in sun or partial shade. Water when the top of the compost feels dry, a little less in cold spells, but don't let it dry out completely. Make sure it drains freely and never sits in standing water, especially in frosty weather. In a hard frost, move it against a wall or into a sheltered porch. It won't need feeding over winter. Pick off faded cyclamen and primrose flowers at the base of the stalk to keep it tidy. In spring, the heuchera, heather and ivy can go into a bed or larger pot.

Items bought in-store or collected can be returned directly at the garden centre. If you would like us to collect a return and it is in good condition (e.g. you have changed your mind), it must be in its original condition, and the same delivery cost will apply for the return.
Plants marked as reduced for end-of-season clearance are non-refundable, as they are sold specifically to clear stock. This does not apply to special offers or multibuy promotions, which are eligible for returns as per our standard terms.
