Quick Guide
• Bright, deep rose flowers
• Succulent, evergreen foliage
• Low-growing, spreading habit
• Drought-tolerant
• Ideal for ground cover and rock gardens
Sedum spurium ‘Deep Rose’, commonly known as Creeping Stonecrop, is a versatile and hardy perennial that brings vibrant colour and texture to your garden. This low-growing succulent forms a dense mat of fleshy, evergreen leaves that turn deep red in autumn, providing year-round interest. From midsummer to early autumn, ‘Deep Rose’ produces clusters of bright, deep rose-pink flowers that attract pollinators like bees and butterflies. Its spreading habit makes it an excellent choice for ground cover, rock gardens, borders, or cascading over walls. It’s also well-suited for use in containers and can thrive in a variety of challenging conditions, including poor soil and drought.
Plant Care Guide
Sedum ‘Deep Rose’ is extremely easy to care for and thrives in full sun with well-drained soil. It’s highly drought-tolerant once established, making it ideal for low-maintenance gardens. Plant it in spring or autumn, spacing the plants to allow for spreading. Water regularly during the first growing season to help establish the roots, but reduce watering once the plant is established. Sedum is generally pest-free and disease-resistant, and it requires minimal upkeep. You can trim back any leggy or damaged stems in early spring to encourage fresh growth. If the plant spreads too much, it’s easy to divide and replant elsewhere in the garden.
