Quick Guide
- Soft to pale pink semi-double flowers
- Light to medium musky fragrance
- Ideal for walls, arches, and pillars
- Attracts bees, repeat flowering
- Suitable for all soil types
Introduced by Warner in 1995, Rosa 'Open Arms' is celebrated as a miniature rambler, combining the charm of a classic rambler with a more manageable size, reaching up to 10ft (3m). This delightful variety produces small, semi-double blooms that emerge as a soft pink before fading to pale pink, showcasing prominent golden stamens at their heart. The flowers emit a light to medium musky fragrance, adding a subtle sensory appeal to its surroundings. 'Open Arms' is a repeat-flowering rose, ensuring a display of its delicate blooms from early summer through to autumn. Its versatility makes it an ideal choice for enhancing 6ft to 10ft walls or fences, standard arches, obelisks, pillars, and doorways. Additionally, its ability to attract bees makes it a valuable addition to any garden focused on supporting pollinators. Thriving in full sun to partial shade and adaptable to all soil types, 'Open Arms' is a resilient and enchanting option for gardeners seeking beauty and performance.
Plant Care Guide
For best results, plant 'Open Arms' in a location that receives full sunlight to partial shade, in well-drained soil. This variety is robust and adaptable, flourishing in a wide range of soil conditions. Water regularly, especially during dry spells, to maintain moisture levels conducive to healthy growth. Feeding with a rose-specific fertiliser in early spring and again in midsummer will encourage vigorous flowering. Pruning should be conducted in late winter or early spring to remove dead or overgrown stems and to shape the plant for the upcoming season. Its repeat-flowering nature can be maximised by deadheading spent blooms, although this is not strictly necessary.

David Austin Roses are hand-grown, which has been the way since the company's inception. Expert rose cultivators hand-bud the plants using traditional and specific methods each year.
Setting out to create beautiful breeds of roses in the early 1950s, David Austin spent decades raising award-winning specimens that has become an art as much as a science.
Many of the beautiful blooms have wonderful fragrances, grown in the form of shrubs climbers and hybrids.
No brand beats the excellence of David Austin roses for sheer beauty, vitality and fragrance.
