Muscari ‘Peppermint’ is a charming and distinctive grape hyacinth, prized for its delicate colour contrast and refined appearance. Each flower spike is composed of tightly packed, bell-shaped florets in soft sky blue, finished with clean white tips that give the plant its fresh, minty look. The overall effect is light, airy, and beautifully spring-like.

Its compact size makes ‘Peppermint’ especially effective in containers, window boxes, and smaller planters, where its fine detail can be appreciated up close. It works effortlessly alongside tulips, narcissi, and hyacinths, softening bolder colours and adding texture to mixed spring displays. In borders, it weaves neatly between larger bulbs and early perennials, creating a natural, layered look without dominating the planting.

This variety is ideal for both contemporary and traditional gardens, offering gentle colour, structure, and reliable performance as winter gives way to spring.

Plant Care Guide

Muscari ‘Peppermint’ grows best in full sun to partial shade. When planting out from pots, choose a free-draining position in the garden or a container with drainage holes. For planters, select a suitable container from Boma’s garden pots and planters range and use bulb fibre compost, such as Miracle-Gro Bulb Fibre, to encourage healthy root development.

Water after planting and keep compost lightly moist during active growth, avoiding prolonged wet conditions. Feeding is minimal, but a light spring feed using a balanced liquid feed from Boma’s plant food range can support flowering and bulb strength for future seasons. Remove spent flower heads if desired, but allow foliage to die back naturally.

‘Peppermint’ looks particularly effective grouped with pale tulips, white narcissi, or alongside deeper blue muscari for contrast. Watch for slugs in damp conditions, especially when pots are placed at ground level. If planting out after flowering, a hand trowel or hand fork is useful for preparing the soil.

Delivery Timeframes

We aim to deliver orders within 2–4 working days. During peak seasons, such as Christmas, delivery times may vary slightly due to increased demand. We will keep you informed at every stage.

Click & Collect

We encourage you to collect from our garden centre in Kentish Town — it saves on delivery costs and gives you the chance to see our full range of plants and products in person.

All Click & Collect orders must be collected within 7 days of being ready, unless a later date has been arranged with us in advance. If an order is not collected within this time, it will be cancelled and a refund issued.

Returns Policy

If you need to return an item, please contact us within 14 days of receipt to arrange a return or exchange. Products must be in their original condition and packaging. Plants may be non-refundable unless they arrive damaged or defective.

Items bought in-store or collected can be returned directly at the garden centre. If you would like us to collect a return and it is in good condition (e.g. you have changed your mind), it must be in its original condition, and the same delivery cost will apply for the return.

Plants marked as reduced for end-of-season clearance are non-refundable, as they are sold specifically to clear stock. This does not apply to special offers or multibuy promotions, which are eligible for returns as per our standard terms.
