Quick Guide
We plant each one to match the photo as closely as we can. If a plant or pot isn't available, we'll swap in a close match so the overall look is the same.
- Lollipop bay above berried skimmia and trailing ivy
- Rounded egg pot with a blue glaze
- Ivy trails down over the shiny blue
- A generous, layered planter for a front door
- Berries for Christmas, evergreen leaves all year
- Skimmia prefers shelter from strong midday sun
- Glazed pot holds moisture, so check before watering
Berries, ivy and a lollipop bay are about as Christmassy as planting gets, but the blue glaze gives them a modern edge. Three berried skimmia and three trailing ivies fill the base of a rounded egg pot, with a clipped bay rising out of the middle.
The ivy is the detail that makes it. It trails over the lip and down the glaze, softening the shape of the pot. The whole arrangement is generous enough to hold its own beside a big front door, at the top of a flight of steps or on a terrace.
Every plant in it is evergreen, so it keeps its shape and colour after the decorations have gone. Trim the bay in summer and the ivy when it gets long, and the blue pot will keep looking smart well into the new year and beyond.
Plant Care
Find it a position with good light but some shade from hot midday sun, which skimmia don't enjoy. Water when the top of the compost is drying out and keep it evenly moist, never waterlogged; a glazed pot holds moisture longer than terracotta, so feel the compost first. Move it close to the house in hard frost and out of cold winds. Feed the plants in spring. Lightly clip the bay in summer and cut back ivy stems that get too long. Turn the pot occasionally so the bay grows evenly.

For London postcodes outside a 5-mile radius of our Kentish Town garden centre, we may occasionally use a third-party courier for delivery. In these cases, we try our best to still deliver the items in the requested delivery time slot but please be aware that occasionally this may not always be possible and is out of our control.

Returns Policy
If you need to return an item, please contact us within 14 days of receipt to arrange a return or exchange. Products must be in their original condition and packaging. Plants may be non-refundable unless they arrive damaged or defective.
Items bought in-store or collected can be returned directly at the garden centre. If you would like us to collect a return and it is in good condition (e.g. you have changed your mind), it must be in its original condition, and the same delivery cost will apply for the return.
Plants marked as reduced for end-of-season clearance are non-refundable, as they are sold specifically to clear stock. This does not apply to special offers or multibuy promotions, which are eligible for returns as per our standard terms.
