Galanthus nivalis, known affectionately in the UK as the Snowdrop, is a charming herald of late winter. These delicate, bell-shaped white flowers, each marked with a distinctive green spot, are a favourite in British gardens due to their early blooming period and resilience to cold weather. The slender, green foliage complements the purity of the white petals, making these plants a subtle yet striking addition to any garden.

Ideal for naturalising in grass, under trees or in woodland areas, Snowdrops thrive in moist, well-drained soil. They pair beautifully with other winter and early spring bloomers like winter aconites and hellebores, creating a serene and picturesque garden scene. These plants are not only a visual treat but also provide an early source of nectar for bees. Planting Snowdrops in drifts can transform a bare winter garden into a magical snowy landscape.

Plant Care Guide

Snowdrops are exceptionally low-maintenance and can thrive in both full shade and partial sunlight. They prefer cool, moist conditions, especially in spring and autumn. Plant bulbs in the autumn at a depth of three times their height. Snowdrops can tolerate most soil types but prefer a rich, well-drained soil. Water during dry spells and apply a light mulch of compost in autumn. After flowering, allow leaves to die back naturally.

Delivery Timeframes

We aim to deliver orders within 2–4 working days. During peak seasons, such as Christmas, delivery times may vary slightly due to increased demand. We will keep you informed at every stage.

Click & Collect

We encourage you to collect from our garden centre in Kentish Town — it saves on delivery costs and gives you the chance to see our full range of plants and products in person.

All Click & Collect orders must be collected within 7 days of being ready, unless a later date has been arranged with us in advance. If an order is not collected within this time, it will be cancelled and a refund issued.

Returns Policy

If you need to return an item, please contact us within 14 days of receipt to arrange a return or exchange. Products must be in their original condition and packaging. Plants may be non-refundable unless they arrive damaged or defective.

Items bought in-store or collected can be returned directly at the garden centre. If you would like us to collect a return and it is in good condition (e.g. you have changed your mind), it must be in its original condition, and the same delivery cost will apply for the return.

Plants marked as reduced for end-of-season clearance are non-refundable, as they are sold specifically to clear stock. This does not apply to special offers or multibuy promotions, which are eligible for returns as per our standard terms.
