Fuchsia ‘Dying Embers’ is a captivating perennial shrub known for its dramatic dark foliage and vibrant blooms. This unique variety features deep burgundy to nearly black leaves that provide a stunning backdrop for its contrasting vibrant flowers. The blooms typically appear in shades of deep red and purple, creating an eye-catching display from late spring through to autumn. Perfect for adding depth and colour to garden borders or containers, Dying Embers is a compact variety that thrives in both urban and rural gardens. Pair it with silver-foliaged plants like Artemisia or bright annuals for a striking contrast. Its long flowering period and robust nature make it an excellent choice for those seeking an impactful yet low-maintenance addition to their garden.

Plant Care Guide

Fuchsia ‘Dying Embers’ prefers partial shade to full sun and thrives in well-drained, fertile soil. Water regularly during the growing season, ensuring the soil remains moist but not waterlogged. Prune in late winter or early spring to encourage bushy growth and remove any dead or weak stems. Applying a balanced liquid fertiliser every few weeks during the growing season will promote vigorous flowering. Mulching in spring helps retain soil moisture and suppress weeds.
