Quick Guide
- Delicate mid-pink bell flowers autumn to spring
- Compact evergreen with dark green foliage
- Thrives in cool, bright conditions
- Needs rainwater only; dislikes tap water
- Pet and child friendly
This tender South African heather is prized for its delicate bell-shaped mid-pink flowers that bloom continuously from autumn through spring. The compact evergreen shrub has fine dark green foliage and reaches about 50cm tall. To encourage flowering, grow in cool bright conditions (ideally 7–12°C), as warmer temperatures reduce flower longevity. Water only with rainwater or distilled water, as the plant cannot tolerate mineral salts in tap water. Keep the soil moist but well-drained to prevent root rot. Light pruning after flowering maintains a neat, compact shape.
Plant Guide
Position in bright indirect light and keep cool (7–12°C for best flowering). Water with rainwater or distilled water only, keeping soil moist but not waterlogged. Mist regularly to maintain humidity if the air is dry. Feed with a dilute ericaceous feed during the growing season only (spring to early autumn). Once flowering finishes in spring, prune lightly to maintain a compact shape. This plant is safe for pets and children.
