Quick Guide
- Striking orange stems, deep green leaves
- Bright indirect light, tolerates shade
- Easy-care, perfect for beginners
- Non-toxic to pets and children
- Filters indoor air naturally
Chlorophytum orchidastrum 'Green Orange', also known as Fire Flash, is a striking houseplant with distinctive orange stems that contrast beautifully against deep green foliage. This tropical African plant brings year-round colour and texture to any indoor space, making it ideal for shelves, desks or as a focal point on a table.
Place in bright, indirect light where it will thrive—it tolerates moderate shade but avoid direct sun, which can scorch the leaves. Water when the top 2–3cm of soil feels dry, and ensure good drainage. The plant enjoys moderate humidity and temperatures between 15–26°C, though it's remarkably forgiving of average home conditions.
Fast-growing and low-maintenance, Fire Flash is completely non-toxic, making it safe for homes with pets and children. It also helps filter airborne toxins, adding a quiet benefit to your indoor garden.
Plant Guide
Provide bright, indirect light for best results. Water when the top of the soil is dry to the touch—usually every 7–10 days in the growing season, less in winter. The plant tolerates average humidity but will appreciate occasional misting. Feed with a diluted, balanced fertiliser every other week during spring and summer. Repot in spring when the plant becomes root-bound, using a well-draining compost mix. Leaf tips may brown if the air is too dry; a light misting helps.
