Brunnera ‘Silver Heart’ is a refined, shade-loving perennial prized as much for its foliage as for its flowers. The broad, heart-shaped leaves are a luminous silver, intricately veined in deep green, creating a cool, calming presence in shaded gardens. In spring, airy sprays of small, forget-me-not-like blue flowers rise above the foliage, adding a gentle lift of colour.
This variety is particularly resilient compared to older Brunnera types, holding its foliage well through the season without scorching. It works beautifully in woodland-style planting, under trees, or in north-facing borders. Pair it with ferns, hostas, hellebores, or shade-tolerant grasses to build a layered, textured display. It is equally effective in containers for patios and shaded terraces, where its foliage provides long-lasting visual structure.
Plant Care
Plant Brunnera ‘Silver Heart’ in partial to full shade, avoiding strong midday sun which can scorch the leaves. It thrives in moist, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. Keep the soil consistently damp, particularly during dry spells, but avoid waterlogging.
Remove spent flower stems after flowering to maintain a tidy appearance and encourage fresh foliage. In autumn, allow the plant to die back naturally, then clear old leaves in late winter or early spring. Divide clumps every few years in early spring or autumn to maintain vigour. Mulching annually will help retain moisture and improve soil quality.

You are also welcome to visit our garden centre in Kentish Town, where our team will be happy to help in person.

Delivery Timeframes
We aim to deliver orders within 2–4 working days. During peak seasons, such as Christmas, delivery times may vary slightly due to increased demand. We will keep you informed at every stage.
Click & Collect
We encourage you to collect from our garden centre in Kentish Town — it saves on delivery costs and gives you the chance to see our full range of plants and products in person.
All Click & Collect orders must be collected within 7 days of being ready, unless a later date has been arranged with us in advance. If an order is not collected within this time, it will be cancelled and a refund issued.
Returns Policy
If you need to return an item, please contact us within 14 days of receipt to arrange a return or exchange. Products must be in their original condition and packaging. Plants may be non-refundable unless they arrive damaged or defective.
Items bought in-store or collected can be returned directly at the garden centre. If you would like us to collect a return and it is in good condition (e.g. you have changed your mind), it must be in its original condition, and the same delivery cost will apply for the return.
Plants marked as reduced for end-of-season clearance are non-refundable, as they are sold specifically to clear stock. This does not apply to special offers or multibuy promotions, which are eligible for returns as per our standard terms.
