Elevate your garden design with the Whitewash Terracotta Stan Wide Planter, a handcrafted piece that combines clean lines with rustic elegance. With its generously wide top, straight-sided silhouette, and soft whitewashed finish, this planter offers a simple yet striking aesthetic that complements a wide variety of planting schemes.

Made by hand from natural terracotta, each pot carries subtle surface variations and a gently distressed finish that evoke traditional Mediterranean garden styles. The planter’s thick walls offer durability and excellent insulation for plant roots, helping to protect against seasonal temperature changes.

This wide design is particularly well-suited for accommodating larger root systems and spreading plants, such as bushy herbs, flowering annuals, ornamental grasses, and compact shrubs. A built-in drainage hole at the base allows excess water to escape freely, supporting healthy plant growth and reducing the risk of root rot.

Available in multiple sizes, the Stan Wide Planter is ideal for layered displays on patios, along garden paths, or in balcony settings. Whether styled solo or grouped with other terracotta pieces, it adds natural warmth and a grounded, earthy feel to any outdoor space.

Its timeless shape, durable material, and characterful finish make it a reliable choice for long-lasting beauty.

Product Care Guide – Whitewash Terracotta Stan Wide Planter

To ensure your Whitewash Terracotta Stan Wide Planter remains in great condition, follow these easy maintenance steps.

As terracotta is a porous material, it allows air and moisture to move through, helping plant roots stay healthy. However, it can also absorb water, making it vulnerable to frost damage in freezing temperatures. For outdoor use, raise the planter slightly off the ground using pot feet to improve drainage and prevent water from pooling at the base.

Each planter includes a drainage hole to allow excess water to escape. To maximise drainage, place a layer of broken pottery or gravel in the bottom before adding compost. This helps keep roots dry and well-aerated. Always use compost suited to the type of plant you’re growing.

Over time, your planter may develop natural marks or a patina, which enhances its rustic character. To clean, gently scrub with warm water and a soft brush. Avoid chemical cleaners or jet washers that might strip the whitewashed finish.

In winter, consider moving the pot to a sheltered location or wrapping it in fleece to guard against frost. If used indoors, place on a saucer or protective mat to catch excess water.

With basic care, this planter will remain both beautiful and functional for many seasons.
