Quick Guide

  • Ideal for moist, shaded garden areas
  • Provides bold, architectural interest
  • Low maintenance and hardy

Introducing Rodgersia pinnata 'Bronze Peacock', commonly known as Fingerleaf Rodgersia, a striking addition to any UK garden. This herbaceous perennial is celebrated for its large, palmate leaves that emerge in a rich bronze color in spring, maturing to a glossy dark green in summer, and finally taking on attractive autumnal tints. In summer, 'Bronze Peacock' produces tall sprays of dusky pink flowers on mahogany stems, adding a splash of color to shaded garden areas.

Perfect for creating bold, architectural interest, 'Bronze Peacock' thrives in moist, well-drained soils in full sun to partial shade. It is an excellent choice for borders, woodland gardens, or as a feature plant near water features. Pair it with hostas, ferns, and astilbes for a lush, layered look.

Plant Care Guide

Caring for your Rodgersia pinnata 'Bronze Peacock' is straightforward. Plant it in rich, moist, well-drained soil and ensure it receives partial shade to protect it from intense afternoon sun. Water regularly to keep the soil consistently moist, especially during dry periods. In spring, apply a layer of mulch to help retain soil moisture and suppress weeds. Prune any dead or damaged foliage in early spring to maintain its neat appearance.
