Nandina domestica 'Obsessed', commonly known as Sacred Bamboo, is a striking evergreen shrub that brings year-round colour and texture to any garden. Unlike traditional bamboos, it is neither invasive nor a true bamboo, making it a perfect choice for UK gardens. This cultivar stands out with its intense red leaves that deepen in colour during the colder months. It reaches up to 60 cm in height, making it ideal for small gardens, borders, or as a vibrant container specimen.

'Obsessed' pairs beautifully with ornamental grasses and silver-leaved plants such as Lavender and Russian Sage, creating a diverse textural display. Its compact and bushy form also makes it an excellent backdrop for flowering perennials. In early summer, small white flowers emerge, followed by decorative red berries in winter, adding interest and providing a food source for birds.

Nandina domestica 'Obsessed' is renowned for its ease of care. Thriving in most types of soil, it prefers a sunny to partly shaded spot. Water regularly during dry spells and apply a general-purpose fertilizer in spring. It is frost hardy, though young plants may benefit from protection in extreme conditions. Pruning is minimal, usually only required to shape or remove damaged stems.

You are also welcome to visit our garden centre in Kentish Town, where our team will be happy to help in person.

Delivery Timeframes

We aim to deliver orders within 2–4 working days. During peak seasons, such as Christmas, delivery times may vary slightly due to increased demand. We will keep you informed at every stage.

Click & Collect

We encourage you to collect from our garden centre in Kentish Town — it saves on delivery costs and gives you the chance to see our full range of plants and products in person.

All Click & Collect orders must be collected within 7 days of being ready, unless a later date has been arranged with us in advance. If an order is not collected within this time, it will be cancelled and a refund issued.

Returns Policy

If you need to return an item, please contact us within 14 days of receipt to arrange a return or exchange. Products must be in their original condition and packaging. Plants may be non-refundable unless they arrive damaged or defective.

Items bought in-store or collected can be returned directly at the garden centre. If you would like us to collect a return and it is in good condition (e.g. you have changed your mind), it must be in its original condition, and the same delivery cost will apply for the return.

Plants marked as reduced for end-of-season clearance are non-refundable, as they are sold specifically to clear stock. This does not apply to special offers or multibuy promotions, which are eligible for returns as per our standard terms.
