  • Spring flowering perennial
  • Ideal for pots and containers
  • Attracts pollinators
  • Easy to grow

Hyacinthus Orientalis, commonly known as the White Hyacinth, brings a touch of elegance and fragrance to the spring garden. These 12cm potted bulbs are perfect for creating impactful displays in containers, borders, or as a striking centrepiece in outdoor table settings. The densely packed spikes of white flowers not only add visual appeal but also emit a heavenly scent that can fill the air from March to April. White Hyacinths are versatile and can be planted alone for a sophisticated look or mixed with other spring bulbs like tulips and daffodils for a more vibrant display. They are particularly effective when placed along pathways or near entrances where their fragrance can be fully appreciated. Ideal for gardeners looking to create a sensory garden, these bulbs will bring beauty and aroma to your outdoor space.

Plant Care Guide

White Hyacinths prefer well-drained, fertile soil and a sunny to partially shaded location. Water the potted bulbs moderately to keep the soil moist but not waterlogged. After blooming, continue to water and feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer until the leaves yellow and die back. This helps the bulb to store energy for the next flowering season. Avoid wet conditions in winter by providing adequate drainage or moving pots to a sheltered location. No pruning is required, but removing the spent flower spikes can encourage leaf growth and bulb replenishment.
