Plant Care

Caring for Dianella revoluta 'Coolvista' is relatively easy. Here are some essential care tips to keep in mind:

  1. Watering: Dianella revoluta 'Coolvista' is drought-tolerant and can survive in hot and dry conditions. Still, it requires regular watering during the first growing season to establish a strong root system. After that, you can water the plant sparingly, only when the soil is dry.

  2. Soil and Fertilizer: Dianella revoluta 'Coolvista' prefers well-drained, slightly acidic soil. To improve drainage and fertility, you can amend the soil with compost or other organic matter. Fertilizing is unnecessary, but you can apply a balanced fertilizer in the spring to encourage healthy growth.

  3. Light Requirements: Dianella revoluta 'Coolvista' prefers full sun to partial shade. Plant it in a location that receives at least 6 hours of sunlight daily. In hotter climates, it may benefit from some afternoon shade.

  4. Pruning: Dianella revoluta 'Coolvista' does not require much pruning, but you can remove any dead or damaged foliage as needed. Prune the plant in late winter or early spring to prevent winter damage and encourage new growth.

  5. Pests and Diseases: Dianella revoluta 'Coolvista' is relatively pest-resistant but may attract snails and slugs. Use organic control methods or handpick the pests to keep them under control. The plant may also develop root rot if the soil is too wet, so avoid overwatering.

By following these care tips, you can keep your Dianella revoluta 'Coolvista' healthy and thriving, providing you with its unique and striking silver-blue foliage, delicate flowers, and blueberries for years to come.
