Quick Guide
- Blue-grey waxy leaves, upright branching stems
- Thrives in bright direct sunlight
- Drought-tolerant, minimal watering needed
- Low-maintenance, feeds 4-5 times yearly
- Mildly toxic; keep away from pets and children
Curio ficoides 'Mount Everest' is a striking, low-maintenance succulent with distinctive blue-grey foliage covered in a silvery waxy bloom. The plant forms neat, upright stems that branch at the base, creating an attractive architectural form with year-round interest. This is an excellent choice for bright sunny windowsills, modern interiors, or balconies where its distinctive foliage can be appreciated. The plant is exceptionally drought-tolerant and thrives in direct sunlight, preferring well-drained soil and minimal watering. Feed lightly during the growing season and protect from overwatering, which is the main risk to the plant. Mildly toxic to pets and children; position out of reach.
Plant Guide
Position in bright, direct sunlight for at least 4–6 hours daily. Water thoroughly but allow soil to dry completely between waterings — drought tolerance means the plant prefers to be slightly dry rather than wet. Use well-drained potting mix with added grit or sand; peat-free loam-based compost works well. Feed with diluted general houseplant fertiliser 4–5 times per year during the growing season. Maintain temperatures between 17–25°C and protect from freezing. Ensure good air ventilation. Propagate from stem cuttings or by division. Mildly toxic if ingested.
