Quick Guide
- Iconic houseplant
- Great homeopathic plant
- Large, thick fleshy leaves- green/ silvery in colour
- Very easy care plant
- Well known air purifier
Aloe Vera, scientifically known as Aloe barbadensis miller, is a popular medicinal plant well-regarded for its numerous health benefits. This succulent plant is not only easy to grow but also an attractive addition to any indoor space with its thick, fleshy, green leaves.
Aloe Vera is often grown in pots and thrives in bright, sunny locations. It pairs well with other succulents and cacti, creating a desert-inspired aesthetic in the home. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, Aloe Vera is known for its air-purifying qualities, helping to improve indoor air quality.
The plant is celebrated for its health benefits, both edible and topical. The gel inside the leaves can be applied to the skin to soothe burns, cuts, and other skin irritations. It's also used in various beauty and skincare products. Additionally, Aloe Vera gel is consumed for its digestive benefits. However, it is crucial to note that the outer leaf contains compounds that can be irritating to the digestive system, so proper preparation is essential.
Despite these benefits, Boma cannot take responsibility for the use of Aloe Vera in any form, whether topical or edible. It is always recommended to consult a healthcare professional before using it, especially if you have any health conditions or are taking medications.
Plant Care
Caring for Aloe Vera is straightforward. It prefers bright, indirect sunlight and can tolerate some direct sun. Water sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Over-watering can lead to root rot. Aloe Vera prefers a dry, low-humidity environment and does well in standard room temperatures, away from cold drafts. No specific feeding is required, but you can use a diluted houseplant fertilizer during the growing season.
- Allow soil to fully dry before watering to avoid risk of root rot.
- Keep in a bright sunny spot for best growth.
- Can remove and transplant pups (plantlets) for several seperate plants.
- Feed in summer months with a cacti and succulent feed for healthy new growth.

Items bought in-store or collected can be returned directly at the garden centre. If you would like us to collect a return and it is in good condition (e.g. you have changed your mind), it must be in its original condition, and the same delivery cost will apply for the return.
Plants marked as reduced for end-of-season clearance are non-refundable, as they are sold specifically to clear stock. This does not apply to special offers or multibuy promotions, which are eligible for returns as per our standard terms.
