'The new 'Fox Light' series of the much loved perennial Digitalis arrived on the plant scene only a few years ago but has been massively popular.
These new Foxgloves have explicitly been bred and selected for their: Compact habit, flowering length, and Bicoloured unusual vibrant colour flowers produced in the first season.
This variety has vibrant rose-pink columns of the colour of individual blooms with golden orange throats. The individual flowers are outward-facing and unusual funnel-shaped.
Foxgloves provide an upright tower of colour in the garden, adding structure and height to the garden.
Digitalis are a stunning plant for adding that cottage garden feel to your garden.
This new series of Foxgloves will thrive in full sun or partial shade.
If you are planting a Digitalis in the garden, lightly fork over it to loosen the soil. Add in organic matter by digging in some Peat-free John Innes compost. Once the soil is mixed, dig a small hole with a spade and add a generous handful of Mycorrhizal fungi to the bottom of the planting hole. Place the Digitalis plant and back-fill with soil. Make sure you have not buried the plant lower in the ground than in the pot. After planting, firm the soil around the plant, so the plant's roots are in touch with the garden soil. After planting, water thoroughly, make sure the soil is moist but not too wet for the first two weeks.
Spring: Feed with a seaweed feed to encourage lots of fresh healthy leafy growth in the spring. Protect new emerging foliage from snails and slugs
Summer: Cutback withering flower stems to encourage further flowering
Autumn: Cutback foliage in autumn to ground level and the perennial will reappear in the following spring
