Planting Services Manager & Estimator

Title: Planting Services Manager & Estimator

Reporting to: Managing Director

Location: Client sites & The Boma Garden Centre, Islip Street, London NW5 2DJ.

We specialise in high-quality outdoor and indoor plants, ready-made planters, gardening gifts, plant care products, pots, and seasonal items such as Christmas trees. Our mission is to enrich North London’s urban landscape by providing expert horticultural advice, exceptional service, and sustainable planting solutions. Boma also offers bespoke planting services for gardens, balconies, roof terraces, and office spaces, ensuring clients receive expert guidance and quality results.


Role Overview

A senior position within Boma’s Management Team, responsible for estimating and delivering planting projects. This full-time role includes a potential bonus success incentive based on project performance. 


Key Responsibilities

Project Estimation & Planning:

  • Engage with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Prepare accurate project estimates and proposals.
  • Promote Boma’s services to generate additional business opportunities.

Project Execution & Supervision:

  • Lead on-site installation of planting projects, ensuring high standards.
  • Ability to work alone or manage team members and allocate tasks effectively when working in a team.
  • Conduct site safety checks and maintain tools and vehicles.

Team & Client Management:

  • Represent Boma professionally on-site and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Lead, train, and motivate team members to deliver exceptional work.
  • Report any operational or staff issues to the Managing Director.

Garden Centre Support:

  • Assist with plant care, customer service, and maintenance when not on quotes or installations.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Good plant knowledge and ideally to including maintenance and pruning techniques.
  • Experience with garden tools, micro drip irrigation, and general horticultural practices.
  • Proficiency in IT (Word, Excel, Outlook) for estimates and reporting.
  • Ability to manage projects efficiently and meet deadlines.

Essential Requirements

  • Full, clean UK driving licence (mandatory).
  • Flexibility with working hours, including possible occasional weekends.
  • Hardworking, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Passion for horticulture and commitment to ongoing professional growth.

Hours:

Full-time (5 days per week, including weekends if required).  (Part-time may be considered if it is appropriate for the Boma’s requirements.)
