Once established, Cistus is a great low-maintenance shrub that is drought-tolerant in the garden. Large white papery thin blooms cover this evergreen shrub from the end of May until the end of July. Ideal for a border or container in full sun in the garden. Cistus will cope with growing in chalky soil in full sun and also in coastal conditions.  

Planting Guide

If you are planting a Rock Rose in the garden, lightly fork over to loosen the soil. Add in organic matter by digging in some Peat-free John Innes compost. Once the soil is mixed, dig a small hole with a spade and add to the bottom of the planting hole a generous handful of Mycorrhizal fungi. Place the Rock Rose and back-fill with soil. Make sure you have not buried the plant lower in the ground than it was in the pot.  After planting, firm the soil around the plant so the plants roots are in touch with the garden soil. After planting water thoroughly, make sure the soil is moist but not too wet for the first two weeks.

Spring

A light trim in early spring to maintain shape . Apply a fertilizer of Q4 pellets to the base of the plant after risks of frosts have passed

Summer

Deadhead throughout summer to encourage more flowers

Autumn

Trim back in late autumn to maintain shape and remove all dead flower heads and stems

Delivery Timeframes

We aim to deliver orders within 2–4 working days. During peak seasons, such as Christmas, delivery times may vary slightly due to increased demand. We will keep you informed at every stage.

Click & Collect

We encourage you to collect from our garden centre in Kentish Town — it saves on delivery costs and gives you the chance to see our full range of plants and products in person.

All Click & Collect orders must be collected within 7 days of being ready, unless a later date has been arranged with us in advance. If an order is not collected within this time, it will be cancelled and a refund issued.

Returns Policy

If you need to return an item, please contact us within 14 days of receipt to arrange a return or exchange. Products must be in their original condition and packaging. Plants may be non-refundable unless they arrive damaged or defective.

Items bought in-store or collected can be returned directly at the garden centre. If you would like us to collect a return and it is in good condition (e.g. you have changed your mind), it must be in its original condition, and the same delivery cost will apply for the return.

Plants marked as reduced for end-of-season clearance are non-refundable, as they are sold specifically to clear stock. This does not apply to special offers or multibuy promotions, which are eligible for returns as per our standard terms.
